Applying principles of cognitive psychology in practice - review 2014 [English]

The international symposium and workshop took place in Brno, Czech Republic, on May 15-16, 2014.

 

 

 

 

 

Dedication

The symposium is dedicated to honored member of academic staff, prof. Josef Švancara, on the occasion of his 90th birthday. Results of his long scientific effort are considered well known worldwide. Topics of his interest include among other instrument diagnostics and developement of new psychodiagnostic methods.

 

The main objectives of the symposium and workshop include:

• Putting together prestigious European scientists from different countries and with different scientific background to share their ideas and topics of interest
• Obtaining feedback on your work from top-level researchers
• Preparing the ground for international collaboration in the field of applied cognitive psychology

 

Main themes of the symposium & workshop:

• Using various devices and tools in the field of cognitive sciences (psychology, cartography, and linguistics), e.g. eye-tracking, EEG, ECG, and web-based applications
• Methodological challenges and restrictions associated with different research topics and research tools
• Possibilities and ways of interdisciplinary collaboration

 

Symposium and workshop schedule

International symposium and workshop will take place on 15th-16th May, 2014. Oral presentations will be divided into thematic sessions. Each session will be followed by a round-table discussion.
The workshop will introduce the web-based application Hypothesis, which is primarily intended for research purposes in the areas of cognitive cartography, experimental psychology, and psychological assessment. The possibilities of interconnection with other research tools, such as eyetracker or EEG, will also be discussed.
A detailed programme and topics of oral presentations will be specified later.
